Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Assessments

Accessing mobility equipment doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Our occupational therapists complete ADP assessments to help you access government-funded supports, making equipment more affordable while ensuring it meets your needs for safety and independence.

Supporting Access to Funded Equipment

The Ontario Assistive Devices Program (ADP) covers up to 75% of the cost of approved mobility equipment. For individuals receiving Ontario Works (OW) or the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), funding may cover 100%.

An ADP assessment ensures:

  • You meet eligibility requirements.

  • The right equipment is trialed and recommended.

  • All paperwork is accurately completed and submitted.

  • You feel supported through every step of the process.

What an ADP Assessment Includes

During an assessment, an occupational therapist may:

  • Review your eligibility and explain funding options.

  • Assess your mobility needs and daily activities.

  • Recommend suitable equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, scooters, seating).

  • Coordinate with approved vendors for trials and quotes.

  • Complete and submit all ADP application paperwork.

Why ADP Matters

Mobility equipment can be a significant financial investment. With ADP support, you can reduce costs while ensuring the equipment chosen is safe, comfortable, and practical for your daily life. Professional guidance helps you move forward with confidence, knowing your application and equipment selection are handled thoroughly.
